Our stompboxes use high quality, hand-selected parts. The transistors for our germanium fuzz effects are all New Old Stock (from the 1950s and 1960s), but everything else is high grade current production. Everything we put into our products is geared to provide the best sound, lowest noise, and greatest reliability -- and our goal is to do this at a price within the reach of the regular, gigging musician.
In fact, let me expand a bit on that last part. I am dumbfounded by how expensive some effects can be, or the prices of classic effects that are put up for auction online. If you’re a collector and REALLY need an original this-or-that from 1960-whatever, that’s one thing. But if you want something dependable, well made, and that sounds great, you don’t need to pay through the nose for it (unless you want to, in which case…you’re weird).
We also know that when you’re recording or playing live (especially playing live!), having a billion tonal varieties out of a stompbox isn’t necessarily ideal. Our products are meant to address a tonal need — and to do it with enough flexibility to give you really useful options without getting lost in a sea of knobs and switches. Plug in, stomp, play, smile. Simple.
